Coating Protection Systems &

Surface Preparation

What is shot blasting?

Shot blasting (Sand Blasting/Abrasive Blasting) is the perfect preparatory operation for achieving the best surface adhesion for your paint. Abrasive particles are fired under total visual control of your component in our blast chamber. The surface is gently etched, removing surface contaminants such as old paint, and rust or mill scale.

What is the difference Between Wet and Dry Shot Blasting?
  • Wet blasting uses a combination of air and water to help break up the target material, while dry blasting uses air to blast the target material.
  • Wet blasting disperses the surface profile more evenly, in a feathered pattern, while dry blasting leaves a deep anchor profile.
  • Wet blasting is a cleaner option, while dry blasting can create a dirtier environment.
  • Dry blasting is more aggressive and typically faster than wet blasting.
How much does it cost?

The cost of Shot Blasting and Coating will vary according to your project’s requirements. Additional factors to consider include type of blast media to be used, Size of blast area to be treated and type of coating to be applied.
